The smooth-edged BlackBerry Curve 8310 offers the convenience of a full QWERTY-style keyboard for use when emailing, text messaging or composing other typewritten documents. The phone supports BlackBerry's personal push email services plus other communication and security solutions, as used by some employers. A camera and GPS capabilities are built-in, too.

For making and receiving phone calls, the 8310's features include a speakerphone, voice dialling, mute key, custom-definable keys and support for Bluetooth wireless headsets or car kits.

Alongside these email and phone call management features, the Curve 8310 offers a 2 megapixel camera with zoom and flash. Photos can be saved to a memory card using the provided microSD slot. Memory cards can also be used to store songs for listening to using the Curve's music player, which has a 3.5mm socket for stereo headphones. The 8310's GPS global positioning unit can be used with BlackBerry's own GPS mapping software to identify the phone's precise current location and help with planning and navigating routes. Other features include password protection and keyboard lock.
